Each piece that I make is unique in that it is a response to specific circumstances (usually related to site, function, or material). While this emphasis on specificity may suggest a disparate body of work, attention to detail is paramount. A successful piece should invite the viewer to look closer -- from a delicately finished joint, to the potential for change or movement, to the implication of function -- I hope to create pieces that will reward the viewer across scale and over time. -Ross Fiersten
