At metal+works, the strength of a piece often resides in the execution of the detail. The detail is not simply ornamentation, but rather, it is integral to the design and function of a piece as a whole. By creating detail studies, we are better able to see how a joint can be built in both a rational and a visually pleasing way. Often these fragment studies suggest materials and juxtapositions which can inform future designs and projects.
